Three brands of inversion benches distributed by ICON Health & Fitness Inc., have been voluntarily recalled because the ankle clamp can release unexpectedly or the strap can break, posing a fall hazard to consumers.
The recall involves: The Nordic Track Revitalize, Gold’s Gym, and Weider Club. They were sold at Sears, Walmart and other sporting goods nationwide from April 2008 through February 2009.
To this date, the company has received 75 reports of incidents that involved the strap breaking or the ankle clamp releasing unexpectedly, including 23 injuries – some of which were to the head and neck.
Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled inversion benches and contact Icon Health & Fitness for a free repair kit.
